The phrase “We want to help you get the justice and compensation you deserve” is commonly used by personal injury and mass tort law firms across the nation. If you’re looking for an attorney after you’ve been injured, it can be difficult to even know where to start when most firms seem to make the same claim of having your best interest in mind. At GoldenbergLaw we know that injustice doesn’t only exist during the hours of 9AM to 5PM on weekdays. It is one thing to tell people you are in the business of seeking justice but quite another thing to extend those efforts beyond the confines of your business.
Associate Attorney Marlene Goldenberg is a prime example of someone who uses her knowledge and talents to seek justice above and beyond office walls. Marlene knew she would be an attorney after passing the bar exam, but she wanted to do more. In May of 2013, Marlene joined Big Brothers Big Sisters where she became a Big Sister to a young girl enrolled in the program. “When I was growing up my parents told me I could be whatever I wanted to be—and for me that was true. That isn’t true for everyone.
I want to level the playing field,” said Marlene when I asked her what she hoped to accomplish by becoming a Big Sister.
To this day Marlene continues to see her Little Sister on a regular basis. They go on outings to museums, parks, movies, etc. When I asked about one of her favorite memories with her Little Sister thus far, she described a time when “I went to go pick her up from school the other day and she told me I was one of her best friends.” She said she serves as a Big Sister because “I want to watch someone’s life change for the better because of the help I was able to provide them. I want to make a direct impact.”
Change is never created by doing something halfway. At GoldenbergLaw, our dedication to justice is more than a simple statement—it is an action we take both in our offices and in our community.
